A few pages have soiled smudges at the edges. The front and back hinges have been repaired with archival glue. Includes a hand-colored fold-out map of the United States in nice condition. The leather spine have small chips and rubbing The front joint has a split extending about halfway down, but the cover is still held firmly in place. The corners are quite worn and rubbed through. The back joint has a smaller split at the top which is been repaired by archival glue. The text block is square and the pages are tightly bound. The pages are browned and there is heavy foxing throughout the book. $350.00

Philadelphia: H. C. Carey & I. Lea, 1822. 546 pages. 1822 Philadelphia printing. Original Brown leather binding shows quite a bit of wear to the edges of the spine and wards. The corners are slightly rubbed through. There are some discolored and rubbed spots to the covers. The edges of the spine has some chips to the leather and darkening. The spine has experienced some leather rot, with some of the surface layer peeled away. A few small insect bore holes to the leather on the back cover. The front joint is split, and the front cover is held in place by a couple of fragile binding cords. The back cover has some chips to the joint, but the cover is securely attached. An important early work on political economy. $250.00
