This book chronicles the U.S. military's Medal of Honor and its past recipients, with a description of the events of battle and combat that led to the awarding of that medal to the recipient. An important military history reference book. There is a main emphasis on the Civil War and frontier Indian wars of the American West. Some paint stain spots on covers. A couple of pages have a crease down the edge from being bent and folded over. Very scarce history of the U.S. 121st Infantry. This book recounts their long history from the early 1800's, through the Civil War and through World War I. It ends with photographs and a description of their base of operations on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. An interesting publication, as the book was printed in 1940, just a year before Pearl Harbor was attacked. One line in the book says that Pearl Harbor will be safe for the American battle fleet "so long as Pearl Harbor is protected, and no longer". $110.00
