44. William A. Hickman Family. Profiles of William Adams Hickman. [n.p.]: William A. Hickman Family Organization, 1982. 170 pages. Some shelf wear to binding and a couple of small chips to the cloth at the edges of the boards, not obtrusive. Privately printed by the family organization. This is the 1982 third printing. A very scarce history of this controversial Mormon. The only full-length biography of Hickman was an anti-Mormon sensationalist book entitled "Brigham's Destroying Angel", purportedly written by himself but mostly ghost-written by the equally-notorious J.H. Beadle, king of anti-Mormon pot-boiler publishing. $140.00

Shelf wear and rubbing to the spine edges and corners. The corners are rubbed through and the top corners are bumped. This is a Grabhorn Press limited edition of 500 copies. An excellent book, showing the great efforts made by Thomas L. Kane to mediate the differences between the Mormons and the State of Illinois and later in Salt Lake City during the threatened outbreak of hostilities between the Mormons and the United States Government. $90.00
