The dust jacket has chips and tears to the edges and most of the spine paper gone. There is some soiling to the jacket as well. The former owner had placed masking tape reinforcement on the inside edges of the jacket, which has been removed, leaving a residue. There is also some of this residue of the spine area of the jacket. Overall the scarce dust jacket is still nicely preserved. $95.00  
 
158. Wilder, Laura Ingalls. These Happy Golden Years. Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1943. 299 pages. 1943 edition, first year of publication in scarce dust jacket. Shelf wear and rubbing to the spine edges. The spine has a slight lean. The dust jacket has small chips and tears to the edges and some tape repair residue on the back panel. I removed the old acidic tape and replaced it with archival tape on the tears. The inside flaps and edges of the jacket have older masking tape reinforcement from the inside, not visible on the outside. The original owner was an elementary school teacher and read this book to her school class. She marked the pages in pencil and there's some underlining and small margin marks to about 100 pages in all. These are mostly light and scattered. The pencil marks could easily be erased, if desired, by the next owner. $150.00
