William Windham, in the House of Commons, May the 26th, 1809, on Mr. Curwen's Bill, For Better Security Independence and Purity of Parliament, by Preventing the Procuring or Obtaining of Seats by Corrupt Practices". Bound in brown half leather, with leather spine and corners with marbled paper boards. There is wear and rubbing to the spine edges and corners. Original full brown leather binding, with the front cover detached and the back cover joint cracked, but attached by a couple of the binding cords much of the original spine leather is to present, though it is worn and rubbed through significantly. With 73 copper engraved plates and two maps present. The frontispiece page and title page has some chips and pieces of the paper missing at the edges, but no text is affected. A few of the other preliminary pages have chips missing from the edges,, with one of the preface pages having a couple of characters of type missing. The fold-out map of London is detached at one of the folds, but is complete, but has some chips and tears around the folds. Some dampstaning to the upper edges of some of the text pages on about 100 pages. Some pages have long repaired tears, repaired with archival tape. The text block is starting to crack, but holding firmly. The pages are complete. This copy could be restored nicely and is sold with condition noted. A rare and important London history. $600.00

Complete set of six volumes, all in the original leather bindings. The spines have gold bands and pattern-stamps decorations with black and red leather labels. Several of the leather labels are missing. The spine leather has darkened a bit and there is the expected wear and rubbing to the edges of the spine and corners. Corners are rubbed and slightly bumped, but not severely. All of the bindings are tight and the text blocks are square, with all contents complete. Overall a beautiful set. $245.00
